Observation Cycle (S1-S3)

For the first three years, students follow a common curriculum. Most subjects are taught in the the language of the section. From S1 onward all pupils will begin to study a second foreign language (L3). In S3, Human Science (History & Geography) and the subject Life and Society are taught in the first foreign Language (L2).

Pre-orientation cycle (S4 & S5)

In this cycle, the Integrated Science course is subdivided into three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students have the choice between a regular Mathematics course or an advanced course. Human Science (comprising History and Geography units)    . Other options include Economics (taught in Language 2), a third Foreign Language (Language 4), Art, Music, Latin and Luxembourgish.

Orientation cycle (S6 & S7)

Years 6 and 7 of secondary education form a coherent cycle leading to the European Baccalaureate. Students follow a common core of compulsory subjects while also having the opportunity to choose from a wide range of elective courses, which are offered for two hours per week, four hours per week, or at an advanced level for L1, L2 or Mathematics.
