Support and assistance for pupils with special needs at EIDE
Different levels of assistance are offered in order to provide the best possible support for pupils.
Differentiation in the classroom.
If a pupil has minor and/or temporary difficulties, teachers differentiate their teaching directly within the classroom.
- Moderate support.
This is provided by a teacher who, for a given period of time, works with the pupil to review and consolidate certain concepts covered in class. - Intensive support.
The implementation of intensive support must always be approved by the school's Inclusion Committee, which meets weekly. It is provided by specialist teachers, instructors or ESEB educators. - Accommodations
Educational accommodations may be put in place in the classroom, in both primary and secondary school, to help students progress in their learning. They must first be approved by the Inclusion Committee and, for some of them in secondary school, they must also be approved by the Reasonable Accommodations Committee. They then become a legal obligation.
