Education Council
The education council comprises nine members: the director of the school, four delegates from the teachers' committee, two delegates from the students' committee and two delegates from the parents' committee, appointed by the respective committees every two years at the latest by October of the current school year. The education council can include up to four representatives of local authorities, the economicor cultural world having relations with the school; they attend the education council in an advisory capacity. The education council is convened at least once a trimester by the director.
The education council has the following responsibilities:
- To adopt the school charter
- To give its agreement for autonomous actions in the educational field, in the field of administrative organisation and to make related proposals
- To adopt the establishment project (is this the school development plan??))
- To communicate the establishment's draft budget and to agree on the distribution of the budget allocated to the establishment (school instead of establishment?)
- To agree to the organisation of weekly schedules
- To communicate the internal and external evaluation reports of the school
- To organise meetings and joint events with the school partners
- To stimulate and organise cultural activities
- To formulate proposals on all questions concerning school life and the organisation of the school
In the event of disagreement by the director with a decision taken by the education council, the director and the other members of the education council have one month to resolve the dispute within the school. If the dispute persists beyond this period, the minister decides.
The operating procedures of the education council are set by Grand-Ducal regulation.
