SSE
The Socio-Educational Service (SSE) supports pupils on a daily basis and assists them in their social, personal and emotional development. It actively contributes to a caring, inclusive and participatory school environment, in line with the principles of the Act of 30 June 2023 on well-being and inclusion in education.
The SSE takes a preventive and educational approach, placing the pupil at the centre of its actions and encouraging their active participation in school life.
Missions and actions
The socio-educational service has the following missions:
- Support and accompany students experiencing personal, social or relational difficulties that may have an impact on their well-being and schooling.
- Promote inclusion in education, taking into account the specific needs of each pupil and contributing to the implementation of appropriate measures.
- Develop students' social and civic skills by encouraging respect, responsibility and commitment.
- Encourage pupils' civic and democratic participation, in particular by supporting class representatives, pupil committees and other forms of representation and participation in school life.
- Offer non-formal educational activities, particularly in supervised meeting spaces.
- Set up projects, extracurricular and after-school activities, and prevention initiatives, in collaboration with teachers, the SePAS and other school services.
- Work in partnership with families, in a spirit of dialogue, trust and respect, in particular by organising information and awareness-raising workshops.
The extracurricular and after-school activities offered by the socio-educational service take place during the lunch break or after school and are aimed at secondary school pupils.
The socio-educational service also coordinates the "Schüler hëllefe Schüler" project, which enables students in S4 to S7 to help students in S1 to S4 with their learning, thereby promoting solidarity, mutual aid and civic engagement.
Through its comprehensive and caring approach, the socio-educational service aims to enable each pupil to find their place at school, participate actively in school life and flourish in a respectful, safe and inclusive environment.
