School Trips: A Cornerstone of Our International School's Educational Approach

At our international school, school trips are an integral part of our educational concept. These trips, organised each year for pupils from nursery school to sixth form, are a unique opportunity for our pupils to discover the world, develop their curiosity, deepen their learning and strengthen cohesion within the school community.

Enriching Experiences

Nursery and primary school pupils have the opportunity to take part in a school trip every year, usually in June. The aim of these trips is to enable younger children to open up to the outside world and enjoy practical experiences related to their school curriculum. These trips are age-appropriate and take place in carefully selected locations to ensure that learning is both fun and educational. Whether they involve cultural visits, nature discovery or sports activities, these trips allow pupils to develop their curiosity, independence and social skills.
The annual school trip allows children to flourish in a safe environment outside the four walls of the school and to express facets of their personality that are not necessarily visible in the school setting. They begin to develop an invaluable sense of independence and acquire teamwork skills by functioning within a group.

An Obligation and a Commitment

School trips are an essential part of our school's educational programme and are therefore compulsory for all pupils. They form an integral part of the assessment of their personal and academic development. In addition, they are designed to strengthen bonds between pupils, promote diversity and open-mindedness, and contribute to the development of global citizens. Therefore, all pupils must participate, unless an exception is approved by the school management.
Any absence from the school trip must be justified and a request for prior authorisation must be submitted to the school management. Unjustified absences may compromise the student's development and participation in educational projects related to the trip. We strongly encourage parents and students to get involved in this process and to take the necessary steps if it is not possible to participate.

Conclusion

School trips are much more than just a leisure activity. They are a vehicle for learning and personal development in an international setting, and play a key role in shaping each student's educational journey, from nursery school to secondary school. We firmly believe that these experiences help to shape individuals who are open-minded, curious and ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow's world.
