École Internationale Differdange & Esch-sur-Alzette

By setting up an international state school in the south of the country, the Ministry of National Education is responding to the growing heterogeneity of the school population. The State must offer a public education system in which every pupil has a chance to succeed, regardless of the language spoken at home.

International courses already exist in state secondary schools in the Central Pole, but this is not yet the case in the South Pole. However, the structural development of the economy in the south of the country and the establishment of the University of Luxembourg in Belval are generating increased demand for children to attend international classes. High-quality schooling is an important factor in the decision of companies, foreign investors and scientific experts as to whether or not to settle in Luxembourg.

The École internationale Differdange et Esch-sur-Alzette (EIDE) is aimed at children and young people from immigrant backgrounds, as well as any other pupils wishing to develop in an international context. It is aimed primarily at young people from Differdange and Esch-sur-Alzette, as well as from the south of the country. In addition to efforts to integrate foreign pupils who will remain in the country, the international school's offer is adapted to the needs of young people temporarily residing in the Grand Duchy and called upon to continue their studies in another country. EIDE is open to all pupils, with no registration fees.
